Jallianwala Bagh Massacre (April 13,1919)
- A large crowd of people had gathered in the small park to protest against the arrest of their leader Saifuddin Kitchlew & Satyapal.
- The army surrounded the gathering under order from General Dyer & block only exit point & opened fire on the unarmed crowd killing around 1000 people.
- By this incident, the entire nation was stunned.
- Rabindranath Tagore renounced his Knighthood in protest.
- Gandhi withdrew the movement April 18, 1919.
